About
I’m Geoff Cox, a hands-on engineering leader in Seattle. I lead engineering teams, and I still write code.
At Knock, I helped scale engineering from 8 to 50 people as revenue grew from $1M to $15M ARR, personally hired 20+ engineers, and led a division where five engineers grew into managers and leads. At Memora Health, I managed a distributed team that cut active bugs by 72% before the company was acquired by Commure. Earlier, I founded GoExpo, built it solo, and sold it in 2013.
Since 2025, I’ve been building TopSet, a production ML trading system on AWS that runs my personal accounts. I built it largely with AI coding agents, with CI and about 7,500 automated tests as the merge authority, which is the standard I’d bring to any team adopting AI coding tools.
Before that, I created MSON, an open-source language for generating apps from JSON, along with open-source CouchDB tools like Spiegel and Slouch. I still love ambitious, wife-maddening side projects.
I’m looking for a Head of Engineering or Engineering Manager role. You can reach me at github.com/redgeoff or linkedin.com/in/geoffrey-cox/
